Bica Nutrition ("Bica", "we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information transparently and responsibly.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, protect, and share your personal information when you use the Bica Nutrition Companion (the "Platform").
By creating an account or using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect
To provide the Platform, we collect information that you choose to provide, information generated through your use of the Platform, and certain technical information required for the operation and security of our services.
This may include your name, email address, authentication information, profile details, age, height, weight, nutritional goals, food logs, dietary preferences, AI conversations, text inputs, and other information that you voluntarily submit while using the Platform.
We also collect technical information such as browser type, operating system, device information, IP address, language preferences, timestamps, and general usage information necessary to operate and improve the Platform.
Voice interactions are processed only for the duration of the interaction. Audio recordings are not stored by Bica once processing has been completed. Where voice is converted into text, only the resulting text may be processed during that session to generate a response.
Payment information is never stored by Bica. All subscription payments are securely processed by Stripe in accordance with Stripe's own privacy and security practices.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to operate, maintain, and improve the Platform.
This includes creating and managing your account, providing AI-powered conversations, generating nutritional insights, processing food logs, personalizing your experience, managing subscriptions, responding to support requests, detecting abuse, improving system performance, and complying with legal obligations.
We may also use anonymized or aggregated information that cannot reasonably identify you to improve our products, develop new services, conduct analytics, perform research, and support the growth of the Bica brand.
We do not sell your personal information, including your name or email address, to third parties for advertising or commercial purposes.
4. Lawful Basis for Processing (GDPR)
Where the GDPR applies, we process your personal information under one or more of the following legal bases:
The performance of our contract with you when providing the Platform and your account;
Your consent where required, such as for optional cookies or marketing communications;
Our legitimate interests in maintaining, improving, securing, and developing the Platform;
Compliance with legal obligations applicable to Bica Nutrition.
Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
5. Artificial Intelligence and Third-Party Processing
To provide certain features, Bica uses trusted third-party service providers.
These providers may process information submitted through the Platform, including AI conversations, text inputs, and voice interactions, solely for the purpose of providing the requested services.
Our current providers fall into the following categories: artificial intelligence and conversational processing, payment processing, cloud hosting and database infrastructure, website hosting, and website analytics.
These providers operate under their own privacy policies and terms of service. We encourage users to review those policies for additional information regarding their data processing practices.
We may replace, add, or remove service providers as the Platform evolves without requiring changes to this Privacy Policy, provided such processing remains consistent with the purposes described herein.
6. International Data Transfers
Some of our service providers operate outside the European Economic Area (EEA). As a result, your personal information may be processed in countries whose data protection laws differ from those of your country.
Where required under applicable law, we implement appropriate safeguards designed to protect your personal information, including the use of Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission or other lawful transfer mechanisms.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the Platform, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, protect our legal rights, and enforce our agreements.
Voice recordings are not retained after processing.
AI conversations and temporary processing data are used only during the active session and are not permanently stored by Bica.
Certain technical information and account records may be retained for reasonable periods where necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or accounting obligations.
When information is no longer required, it will be securely deleted or anonymized.
8. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, misuse, or destruction.
Despite these safeguards, no method of electronic storage or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You acknowledge that the transmission of information over the internet is undertaken at your own risk.

The Platform is not intended for children under the age of 16.
